Lead Pastor Coaching Clusters

In Converge MidAtlantic, we believe that every church needs to be healthy in order to reproduce disciples, leaders and other congregations. We want to provide services that will enable our lead pastors to bring greater health to their respective churches in order to assure enhanced Kingdom effectiveness. We offer coaching clusters with this purpose in view because the pastor’s approach and experience are vital factors in achieving church health.

Coaching clusters have been developed with lead pastors in mind. Lead Pastor Coaching Clusters are intended to help these pastors develop spiritually, live out their missional values, create a healthy missional community with appropriate missional systems, understand and break current growth barriers and experience trusting relationships outside their respective churches.

Reggie McNeal defines a cluster this way:

“A group of colleagues who come together in a spirit of mutual respect, authenticity, learning and shared responsibility to continually explore and articulate an expanding awareness and base of knowledge.”

The venue for a Lead Pastor Coaching Cluster is comprised of one day-long session a month over a period of six months. The common thread would be participation in a Natural Church Development survey and implementation of the NCD results. Each session would include a leadership conversation, review of a case study, strategic planning and presentations and some peer coaching and idea sharing.

The lead pastor would be required to submit an application and would have to agree to be on time and prepared for each Monthly Coaching Day and meet deadlines for assignments. He would also agree to pay $100 a month (or $500, if paid in a lump sum up front) and pay the costs of NCD Profile and Insights ($245).  For this first Lead Pastor Coaching Cluster, Converge MidAtlantic will be charging a reduced fee of $50 per month, or a total of $250 if paid in a lump sum in advance.

Our first cluster is scheduled to begin in September of 2011.  Dates are as follows:

September 20,2011                January 10, 2012

October 18, 2011                    February 21, 2012

November 15,2011                 March 20, 2012

The location of this first pilot cluster will be centrally located in Ohio
