On October 10, twenty plus folks from four Converge MidAtlantic churches met for a day of training and connection at Camp Burton. Led by Dave Scull and Gary Schroeder, these seniors learned about the state of senior adult ministry today and the possibilities for greater participation in the future. Gary encouraged the men and women who were present to incorporate the five dimensions of a Godly life found in Psalm 92:12-15 as a measurement of their on-going discipleship and involvement. Dave reminded them of the opportunities offered by Camp Burton that go well beyond the summer camp schedule for children, seeing Camp as a year-around discipleship tool.
After a great lunch, a tour of Camp and a few runs down the Thunder Tube, it was widely agreed that this was a worthwhile event and that a second experience should be planned for the spring. Our next get-together is scheduled for April 16, 2012 and we hope you will make plans to join us at that time.
