Love Lift Brings Hope and Help to Ukraine!

Three Converge MidAtlantic churches brought faith and love, and hope to families and churches in Ukraine again this summer, as Love Lift Ukraine stays engaged in mission for Jesus!

Berean Church of Mansfield, OH spent one month in serving its sister church in Brovarie, Ukraine, focusing again this year on conversational English classes, and a special needs family camp.  What a thrill to serve 42 families of special needs and handicapped children as Berean shared the love of Jesus in practical and life changing ways. Pastor Bill Heaton led 2 teams that served during the month of July.

Pastor Dave Carlyle and a team from Fite Memorial Church in Marion, OH served for the 11th consecutive year with its sister church in Ripki, Ukraine.  A record number of over 350 children were involved in the summer camp that the Fite team helped to lead.  Children and entire families were forever changed as the good news of Jesus came into their lives through our mission team's witness.

Pastor Rob Paterson from New Hope Loudonville led an energetic team to serve with Hope Church in Rivne, Ukraine.  Just coming alongside our brothers and sisters in Ukraine served as a huge encouragement, as this country has gone through turbulent times in recent months. New Hope is engaged in English classes with its Ukrainian partners, using Skype during the offseason.  Plans are to continue this English class ministry and trust God to see it grow and serve many churches there in the Rivne area.

One of the things I heard repeatedly during my travels in Ukraine this summer, was a deep appreciation for the involvement and partnership of Converge MidAtlantic churches, especially during this time of trouble in Ukraine.  Having Christ followers from the U.S. come and serve alongside Ukrainian pastors and churches meant so much to these dear people. We were given information regarding several more churches in the Rivne region of western Ukraine, that are very interested in a U.S. sister church.  We also will be seeking to develop and expand the English school program in the Rivne region, believing this to be a very strategic opportunity to reach the next generation for Christ.

Thanks for continuing to pray for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.  For more information on future trips, contact Dan, Anna, or Mary Colace at our Converge MidAtlantic ministry center.
