Mercy Ministries is the name of Converge MidAtlantic’s compassion initiative to orphans, widows, the poor, and to meeting human needs; focusing primarily in Ukraine. Established by Sandi Peterson, wife of our Executive Minister, Dan Peterson, Mercy Ministries has shown the love of Jesus to hundreds of orphans, to hundreds of mentally and physically handicapped, and to scores of poor families in the Rivne region of Ukraine. Mercy Ministries has also offered help to those with special needs here in the United States. Currently, Tania Martin tania_i_martin@yahoo.com is directing this ministry in Ukraine.
Specific ways you or your church can be involved include:
- sending clothing to orphans and the poor in Ukraine
- financial gifts to help with needs within the orphanages
- going to Ukraine and serving on a short term team ministering in orphanages in Ukraine
- providing financial gifts to help meet special needs in our movement and beyond
